Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where did you train?

A: I earned my DMD degree at the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.  I then received my certificate in prosthodontics from Eastman dental Center at the University of Rochester, in 1992.  I have been in private practice since then, and I have enjoyed learning new and innovative techniques in patient care.

Q: How do you stay up to date?

A: I take more hours of continuing education each year than required.  In the past three years I have averaged 100 hours of continuing education per year, which is five times the required amount.

Q: Does your office keep up with technology?

A: Yes, it is a part of my commitment to offering the most comfortable, highest quality care to my patients.  By using the latest materials and the newest techniques, I can ensure that the restorations I do today will last for years to come.  My goal is to be a lifelong dental partner for my patients.  When someone visits me thirty years from now, I want their tooth to look as good as it did the day I restored it.  Our most recent investment has been the incorporation of a cone beam CT scan machine which gives a three-dimensional representation of the patient's mouth.  This technology is very helpful in the diagnosis and treatment planning of implant patients.  It is also very helpful in making some difficult diagnoses especially when conventional x-rays are negative.

Q: How important is interaction with your peers?

A: By sharing ideas and experiences, we are working to improve the level of dental care for everyone in our area.  In fact, I've often been able to pass along what I've learned to the students of Eastman dental Centers in prosthodontics program.  I am currently an assistant associate professor.

Q: How long have you been an instructor?

A: I have taught prosthodontics residents for the past eight years. All of my students are very eager to learn how to become successful prosthodontist's.  It's important for me to teach them to perform the latest techniques, but most importantly, I stress the value of treating patients as individuals.  I believe that a personal concern for patients is the true measure of a good dentist.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

A:
For me, dentistry has never been about fixing a tooth and moving on.  It's about keeping my patient's smiles healthy and attractive for life. I love when we not only transform a smile but also the entire personality surrounding that smile.  Knowing that I've helped give someone the confidence to share their smile is and will always be my greatest reward.
